General Rules for Event Room


The Event Room may be reserved at no charge by non-profit professional and governmental groups and by any local group in Hazel Park. If it is a For-Profit group, there is a charge of $25 per event. In accordance with Michigan Public Accommodation Act, this facility may be used only by groups whose membership is open to all without restriction based on race, sex or religion

  1. When the library is closed, the Event Room is unavailable except for library programs or use by the City.
  2. Organizations using this space, other than City Departments, can’t automatically continue to book the room indefinitely; it can be scheduled for up to 3 months at a time and then rescheduled if available.
  3. The space should be vacated at least 10 minutes before closing time of the Library except for Library events or City business
  4. All groups agree to hold the Library, its staff and Trustees harmless for loss, damage or liability that may arise during use of the Event Room.
  5. If refreshments are served during an event, the group holding the event is responsible for all supplies, utensils and equipment needed as well as clean up. If any damages are incurred, the group is responsible for all costs incurred for repair or cleaning.
  6. For-Profit groups will be charged $25 for events or meetings
  7. We need at least 72 hour room request
  8. No meetings are to be held outside of the Event Room in the Library proper.
